Born beneath a pipal tree,
the baby brought great promise
into the world.

Sujata makes the decisive gift – rice milk.
The journey to the Bodhi tree is possible.
Seated beneath the Bodhi tree,
the human, luminous and free,
broke loose of all fetters.
Lying beneath the sal tree,
the old monk
entered into final liberation.
Trees, with their roots deep in the earth,
bear witness.
Putting the roots deep into our own hearts,
we discover wisdom and love.
